The historic fear of leprosy has led to the continued social stigma against those with the disease. People with leprosy are considered outcasts, unwanted, and untouchable in Indian society.
Even though leprosy is rarely transmitted, people with the disease are forced to live outside the cities in special colonies and are unable to hold employment.
Send Hope supports two leper colonies in which individuals are given medical attention, hygiene education, and nutrition. Our residents are shown the unconditional love, grace, and mercy of Jesus. Your gift provides food and medical care to an affected individual who would not otherwise receive care.
